Field Service Technician (Electrical Heavy Mining Machines) – Chelmsford, Ontario, Canada

We currently have a Field Service Technician role based in our Chelmsford, Ontario branch available.

The role will see the successful applicant installing, repairing, calibrating, configuring, maintaining and testing RCT’s proprietary ControlMaster® remote and related solutions on a wide range of mining equipment; as well as integrating control, automation and protection systems into a wide range of machinery electrical and hydraulic circuits (Caterpillar, Joy Global, Sandvik, Atlas Copco etc).

Applicants must have equivalent qualifications to auto electrical with a strong interest and/or prior experience with electronics or radio communications and be prepared to travel throughout Canada, the United States and various international locations when required.

Essential requirements to apply:

  • You must be a Canadian resident
  • Must be certified in Auto Electrical Trade – (Red Seal Certification)
  • Valid driver’s license with no restrictions
  • Have or able to obtain a valid Passport
  • Extensive knowledge of 12/24 V systems on mobile equipment
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience working in a mechanical/electrical field
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment schematics
  • Sound understanding of integration Control/Automation/Protection systems into machine electrical circuits
  • Above average in computer literacy (Microsoft suite)
  • Medically fit and able to pass drug and alcohol testing
  • Hold or be able to obtain WHMIS Certification
  • Hold or be able to obtain a First Aid Certificate

Non-essential requirements – but preferable:

  • Previous experience in both underground and surface mining.
  • General welding/ fabrication skills
  • General Knowledge of Hydraulic circuits and diagnosis
  • Bilingual
