MACHINE CONTAINMENT SYSTEM

Your safety device for remote control operation areas
MACHINE CONTAINMENT SYSTEM

The ControlMaster Machine Containment system has been designed for underground Remote/Teleremote mining applications for single and multiple entries to a remote mining area.

Machine Containment prevents the remote-operated machines from exiting the area, and personnel from entering the area.

The master unit can receive signals from up to four control unit kits. Each control unit kit consists of two scanners spaced 800 mm apart which gives double redundant operation, preventing personnel from being able to manoeuvre around the scanner beams without triggering the Machine Containment System.

The single entry system includes a Machine Containment control unit and a dual scanner assembly and is typically used for Line-of-Sight remote control operation to ensure operator safety.

If required a second dual scanner assembly can be coupled with the single entry system to provide a buffer between the operator and machine. The multiple entry system is typically used when in Teleremote and Guidance operations, where multiple access points need to be isolated.

HOW THE SYSTEM WORKS

When a scanner beam is tripped, power is removed from the remote control transmitter causing the machine to neutralise, brakes to apply and the engine to shut down.

The scanner unit that has been tripped will be indicated at the Machine Containment System master unit by the corresponding LED changing from solid green to red. Operations can only be resumed when the tripped scanner beam has been inspected, trip cause corrected and both the control and master units have been reset.

The Machine Containment System is preferred system for all ControlMaster remote control systems.

Características
  • Improves remote mining safety
  • Dual redundancy system
  • Prevents machines/personnel entering and exiting the remote mining zone
  • Machine Containment diagnostics inbuilt into the master unit
  • Latest technology that prevents false tripping and operation ensures correct connection
  • Increased productivity
  • Removes operators from the hazardous underground work environment and allows safe operation from the surface
  • Reduces the number of personnel underground, reducing the risk of personnel injury
  • Signals are received without delay or latency with the use of fibre optic communications allowing for more effective Teleremote operation
  • The opportunity for “hot seat” shift changes reduces operator down time and increases production time
  • Note: A single area containment system is available for the CM2000D Series Part No. 10148
