The Muirhead® Speed Gates are a system designed to improve safety for company equipment and personnel across materials handling operations.

The technology can be applied to access points such as entranceways, exits and racking isles, in order to establish specific, predetermined speed limits for all manner of equipment regardless of operator input.

Speed Gates consist of two anchors and are placed at doorways or access points. A Machine Location Tag is installed upon the mobile equipment which detects when the piece of equipment has travelled through a gate and signals a Muirhead® Speed Limiter to select the predetermined maximum speed allowed in that specific area. The Speed Gates can be configured to control up to four separate speeds across a single site.

To enable the control of vehicle speed a Machine Location Tag must be interfaced with a Muirhead® Speed Limiter and installed upon the piece of equipment in order to control the equipment’s speed. The Machine Location Tag may also be interfaced into any 12/24 VDC input in third party devices that may already have the ability to control the speed of the equipment.
