Autonomous solutions specialist RCT has thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to interact with members of the regional mining community at the recent Canadian Mining Expo in Timmins, Ontario.
Staff from RCT’s Sudbury branch attended the two-day event earlier this month to speak about the company’s automation, protection, fleet management and parts ranges.
RCT North America Regional Manager Andrew Sells said they would have engaged with roughly 500 people over the course of the event.
“Attendees were most interested in the company’s remote and fully autonomous solutions for mining equipment,” he said.
“It was clear to us that there are many opportunities in the Ontario region where we could make a valuable contribution to regional mining operations.
“Our technology, support, training and servicing which would be delivered through our branch in Sudbury makes us unique in the region as other suppliers do not offer this level of engagement.”
The staff felt the event was an excellent opportunity to speak with a wide variety of people from the local region with roughly 99% of attendees having some connection to local mines.
“It will be very important to take part in events like this in the future in order to support the local community as much as possible,” Mr Sells said.
Thousands of people flocked to Timmins for the Canadian Mining Expo (CME) – The Big Event held at the McIntyre Community Building last week where RCT was exhibiting for the second year in a row.
RCT was one of more than 400 exhibitors to partake in the annual event, and it was a busy few days for the team.
“We always enjoy partaking in this event as there is a real sense of community,” said RCT’s Regional Manager for North America, Andrew Sells.
RCT’s Canada branch has been in operation for 18 months and it’s the second time the company has taken part in this well-known event.
“There was a lot of interest from visitors about our Automation range. People really like that our solutions are so versatile and can be installed on any machine, regardless or make or model,” added Sells.
RCT is excited to be partaking in the upcoming CIM 2018 held at the Vancouver Convention Centre from May 6- 8.
This is the third time RCT has exhibited at this popular event which is expected to draw crowds in excess of 5,000 industry professionals and decision-makers.
North America Regional Manager, Andrew Sells said CIM 2018 was an important expo for RCT to be present at given that the company has been active in the region for some time.
“It’s the first time we are able to showcase the support and capabilities of our branch, based in Ontario,” said Mr Sells.
“In addition to supplying and installing profit-boosting solutions, we provide the training and the technical support to ensure our clients get the most out of their mobile mining machines.”
Visitors to the booth will also be able to experience RCT's ControlMaster® Guidance Automation solution for themselves, with the simulator available for attendees to try.
“CIM 2018 will help to further familiarise RCT with the market and give people a better understanding of our full range of
solutions available over our five sub-brands, but in particular our Automation solutions that can be installed on any machine, regardless of make or model.”
“It’s what sets us apart from our competition,” added Mr Sells.
RCT will be at booth 1545.
