In some mining situations, the safety demarcation zone or the size of the machine may prevent the view clarity and detail required to perform an operation such as the recovery of a machine or filling of a bucket. Where Line-of-Sight operation is available but clear vision is obstructed or unsafe, a portable Teleremote solution allows effective operation of the machine from a safe distance well beyond their natural viewing sight.
The Control Master® ATX Portable Teleremote system has been designed to perform short term Teleremote tasks.
The ATX Portable Teleremote system works by using cameras on board the machine to provide the operator with vision of the machine’s movements. The camera images are relayed to a colour LCD screen, which is positioned on the ATX2200. The operator controls the machine via the vision from the LCD unit. The camera views can be manually switched at the LCD monitor.
The ATX Portable Teleremote system is available with proportional outputs. Single and dual channel systems are also available depending on the requirements of the customer.
RCT recommends that the ATX Portable Teleremote system only be used for short term underground applications, such as recovery and short term production, and operator Teleremote training. The operator is to be located in a machine protected area.
