The Muirhead® Overspeed/RPM system (Part No. 9914) is specifically designed to suit CAT “R” and “T” series dozers with electronic brake controls. The system has two stages, stage one activates an audible and visual alarm to alert the operator when they are about to exceed the RPM limit or over rev their machine. If the first stage warning is ignored and the operator continues to operate in violation, the system will apply the service brakes and record the violation on a totaliser in seconds. This record can be viewed and reset by the site supervisor.
The system allows site supervisors to monitor overspeed/RPM violations by different operators helping to regulate safe driving practices on site. The system also helps to maintain equipment safety and reduce engine damage.
ENGINE OVER RPM DETECTION
The system has a frequency sensor that is pre-set to operate when the engine reaches a set RPM point.
ENGINE OVER RPM WARNING
Activates an audible and visual operator alarm.
ENGINE OVER RPM BRAKING
Protects the engine from over RPM by activating the OEM electronic braking system.
SYSTEM VIOLATION MONITORING
The system is fitted with a totaliser, which accumulates the total time in seconds that the OEM braking system is being automatically applied for.
