Chief Commercial Officer
Phil is a proud WA mining industry veteran, applying his years of knowledge in the mining and technology industries to the business. As a founding member, Phil has lived and breathed RCT since he started as Bob’s first employee in 1974 when he was in high school. He went on to complete an apprenticeship as a High Voltage Tradesperson and then an Auto Electrician.
During this time, he learnt to innovate in a self-managed customer service role too.
It was not long before Phil became Bob’s first Field Service Tradesperson, a position that saw him travelling to service mine sites across the goldfields completing many full machine rebuilds. This experience led Phil to discover the importance of radio remotes in mining and helped to pioneer the superior remote control systems first used by RCT. He designed and built many systems on site.
After years of experience in the field, Phil branched out into sales management, opening RCT’s first branch outside of Kalgoorlie in 1987. This expansion continued throughout all Australian states throughout the 1990’s, when Phil took the company’s offer increasingly international over time.
Today, Phil is the company’s Chief Commercial Officer. He has extensive international trade knowledge from interaction with customers in over 75 countries and applies a hands-on, direct business approach to achieve agreed outcomes at an executive level. His passion to help clients improve their businesses using RCT’s smart technology solutions is what drives him.
