RCT - Powered by Epiroc is seeking two detail-oriented and motivated Software/System Testers to join our team on a 12-month maximum term basis to cover parental leave. You will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our software products through structured testing, accurate defect reporting, and close collaboration with the development team. This role suits someone who enjoys problem-solving, has strong attention to detail, and is passionate about delivering high-quality software.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Design, develop, and execute test cases and test plans
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
- Identify, document, and track software defects using tracking tools
- Work closely with developers and product owners
- Review requirements to ensure clarity and testability
- Support release testing and production validation
- Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes
To be considered for these roles, you will require the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field preferred or Equivalent practical experience in software testing or quality assurance.
- At least 2 years of software testing experience
- ISTQB Foundation Level certification (or equivalent) — highly regarded
- Experience in testing, including:
- Manual testing of embedded or target hardware (e.g. software running on target devices, use of test jigs) — highly regarded
- Software testing using test scripts, virtual devices, and/or automated test frameworks — highly regarded
- Application testing of web-based or desktop applications — desirable
- Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Experience with defect tracking tools such as JIRA or similar
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
