It’s just the beginning of May and it has already been a busy month for the RCT team having recently exhibited at the successful CIM Expo 2016 held in Vancouver, Canada.
The annual event, organised by the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum attracts a wide range of industry suppliers, consultants and equipment service providers from all over the globe who are offering the latest in innovations and a variety of cost-effective solutions available for the mining industry.
Therefore CIM Expo 2016 presented RCT with the perfect opportunity to not only showcase the latest range of proven smart technology but to inform attendees of the opening of our North American hub in Salt Lake City, Utah.
RCT had three specialists on the ground at the expo including RCT North American VP Business Development, Lyle Hobbs, RCT Product Manager, Andrew Sells and RCT Channel Partner Development Manager, John Capehart.
The RCT team were on hand to answer questions about the current product range on display which are significantly changing the way in which mining companies operate.
Mr Hobbs said CIM 2016 Expo was a pre-eminent show for the Canadian mining industry.
“It was a great opportunity to connect with product users as well as existing and potential partners,” he said.
“The event also proved to be the ideal platform to tell people about our new North American hub. RCT is committed to the Canadian and US markets and creating a base in the region is crucial to support our existing and future clients and partners.
“Salt Lake City is serviced by local carrier Delta Airlines, and has direct flights to Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto, making it the ideal base for operations for the continent, and beyond.”
About 7,000 attendees converged on the Vancouver Convention Centre over three very successful days.
“The event was well organised and attendance was consistent throughout the expo,” Mr Hobbs said.
“Despite the challenges facing the mining industry and commodity prices, overall there was a really good vibe amongst both the exhibitors and visitors at the event.”
Mr Hobbs said a highlight of the event for him was the opportunity to create additional contacts as well as further existing relationships.
“We had a high level of interest in potential partnering opportunities,” he said.
“Having a high concentration of existing relationships and to communicate effectively in a consolidated environment was fantastic!”
RCT’s booth created a lot of interest amongst attendees as our product offer is relatively new for the region.
“Overall we received a positive impression on the range of products and services that RCT is progressing into the Canadian market.
“The event provided additional exposure of the breadth of the company’s offerings which was also extremely valuable.”
Overall Mr Hobbs deemed CIM Expo 2016 a great success for RCT and its journey into the North American mining market.
