RCT 'Open for business' in North America

Remote Control Technologies (RCT) is pleased to announce the appointment of Lyle Hobbs as VP Business Development, North America. The appointment of Hobbs comes at a strategic time for the Company which is aggressively targeting regions globally where smart technology, already well proven in the Australian market, can provide significant safety and productivity benefits to mining operations.

In support of this, Hobbs' primary objective is to develop and implement strategy to grow RCT's business into North America.

"I am excited about the opportunity of introducing a world class product into a new market," said Hobbs, "a market that values innovation and superior safety tools."

"My priorities will include bringing knowledge of RCT's tools to assist mining operations in the US and Canada to mine safely first of all, but also very efficiently."

Hobbs, an experienced executive with an Engineering and Business background has certainly earned his stripes in the industry with over 20 years' experience in a range of commodities from Oil Sands to Coal and Alternative Fuels in both Canada and the United States. With roles including CEO of a junior exploration firm, Chief Engineer and Engineering Manager, he has enjoyed exposure to all aspects of mining and enjoys a comfortable rapport with operators through to management.

Asked about the opportunities he sees for RCT in the US and Canada, Hobbs said, "The product is industry proven, both in Australia and globally, together with superior support, it sits above the competition in terms of the market, so I see considerable opportunity."

"Innovation is key to success in a global market," said Hobbs, "and the US industry recognises this. It is open to new, smart technology that works."

Hobbs is based in Salt Lake City, Utah, a city with a long mining history which goes back as far as the Gold Rush of the 1850′s, and strategically placed for easy access to the major mining regions.
