With Christmas now upon us and the New Year just around the corner, RCT’s Executive Director and CEO Brett White reflects on the year that was as well as passing on his wishes to everyone at RCT and its valued clients across the globe!
2016 is a shining example that hard work pays off!
While many businesses around the world are just keeping afloat during these harder times, RCT is expanding. The opening of an office in Salt Lake City, Utah and another underway in Sudbury, Ontario reflects this. Establishing a presence in North America was a definite highlight for the company, signifying a new chapter in the life of the company which started more than 40 years ago in the outback of Western Australia.
This year proved to be a busy time for the team who further engaged with an international audience with RCT in attendance at expos all over the world including Mining World Russia in Moscow, CIM in Vancouver Canada, EXPOTECNOMIN in Peru and of course, the world’s biggest mining expo in the world – MINExpo in Las Vegas – all which were a huge success!
An integral part of infiltrating the international market is partnering with the right businesses to further expand our distribution. 2016 saw RCT enter into partnerships with Philippines company Le Price, Chile-based mining solution provider Fasser as well as PT Linindo from South East Asia.
Also this year, RCT celebrated our two year partnership with our Perth neighbours, Activ Foundation, a long-standing organisation that employs people with disabilities to give them meaningful employment. In addition to this we also threw our support behind the Cobar Community by partaking in the annual Inter-mine Golf Challenge to raise funds for not-for-profit charities and organisations in the town as well as supporting PT Freeport’s Movember efforts to raise money for men’s health.
In a time where companies are looking to increase productivity in a cost-effective way, many people are looking to RCT solutions and as a result, we have had a busy year commissioning, upgrading and fitting our solutions at sites all over the world.
The RCT Custom team showcased its extensive capabilities with the work we completed at the River View Coal project in Kentucky when the Custom team successfully retrofitted an old dozer with our ControlMaster® Line-of-Sight remote when other remote control companies said it was virtually impossible!
Our most recent and significant achievement would have to be without a doubt the company taking out the Australian Mining Prospect Award for Innovative Solution of the Year with our ControlMaster® Independent Guidance solution. The team won this prestigious award against tough competition from Caterpillar, Enerpac, Flexco, H and B Mining, Komatsu, Mti Group, No Bolt Operations, Pulse Mining Systems and Scott Automation & Robotics.
With 2017 just around the corner plans are well underway to continue the successes achieved this year.
